i use neither. Rest mode i generally found useless on ps4. When I come home from work if something needs to update or download, ill get it set up before i have a shower, cook, etc. i immediately disabled rest mode when setting up my ps5 cause i won't use it lol. Then these reports started coming. Check the download location on your PC or Mac, delete any previous versions. I set up an external hard drive (Seagate " SSHD in Vantec enclosure) with my PS4 Pro and all is good except for when using rest mode. If I put the system into rest mode it appears to shut the drive off but when I power back on I get a screen saying my external was not shut down properly followed by another saying it is damaged and needs to be repaired (after which it works properly again).
